Prima Mixed Media Doll- Angel Ruby Canvas

I named this Canvas Angel Ruby...after my Aunt Ruby. I will hang it on the wall so my Aunt Ruby can watch over my mom. She passed away 6 years ago in December. Her and my mother was the closest out of all the siblings and talks of her often. So now Aunt Ruby will be remembered when we look at the canvas. Our Angel!!

This month’s project was so much fun and the meaning behind my creation made me feel happy when creating it!! There are so many new things to play within the Flamingo Scraps store. How could anyone not have a creative mind when looking through all the goodies they carry? I can just go there and look at what I want next. The Prima Dolls are the rage right now and one of the top sellers along with Tim Holtz Distress Paint. So, why not use both of them. I LOVE this paint!!! I wish I had gallons of it. LOL I cannot say enough about it. But, once you try it….it is unlike any other paint that I have used!! I stamped this girl in black and used clear embossing powder. I wanted her to have Patton Leather shoes. LOL I also did the same to the rest of the pieces of the doll. Just so I could get a good outline of her to fussy cut. I have added a few techniques under a couple of the pictures how I achieved the different elements on this canvas.

Background I used a Multi Medium Gel and a stencil. After that dried I then with the new Tim Holtz Distress Paint...I took and finger painted and then sprayed with water. You can find the whole set here. Tim Holtz Distress Paints Set I used the
Fired Brick, Antique Linen, Picket Fence, Black Soot for the background.
I also used some recycled packaging on the back of the girl.
I created it by embossing it and then painted the back With Distressed Paint Picket Fence. Let it dry then painted the front with Distressed Paint Black Soot. I then used a heat gun and melted the words and dried the paint. Then I took a sanding block and roughed it up so you could see the white behind it.
