Tim Holtz Monthly Challenge for February 12 Tags of 2013

I have decided to do the Tim Holtz Tags 12 tags of 2013 Challenge. I missed January but will make that one up. I love everything about Tim Holtz designs and products and Took his Creative Chemistry class last year. I choose this stamp because of the heart and wings. All of the products that I have used are products from RangerInk.com. I know that my loved ones watch over me and I wanted to post on my board a remembrance that they are always with me.

Best Friends with Teresa Collins Now and Then Collection

This month’s Design Team project I decided to use Teresa Collins Now and Then Collection for a layout. The picture was taken last summer when my friend Kathy from High School was home from South Carolina. We do not get to see each other much. But when she comes home we always get together. I used some of the ephemera and the words from the collection pack to different areas. This line is just so much fun to play with. The collection pack offers so many papers you could easily make 3 layouts or more from it. I did a short tutorial on how I colored the bird which is the same technique that I used for my flowers and the butterfly. I just learned not to use a heat gun thoe on the flowers, birds and butterfly's that come in this pack. Due to the glitter on them. Fab 4 at Flamingo Scrap

Wow this was a really challenging one to do….I was stumped for a bit and then just rolled with it. I so love these 4 products to make a project. It really makes me get outside my comfort zone. Here is the picture of the 4 products that was sent to me.



As you will see I used many different product lines on this one. I used the paper that was sent to me by Heidi Swapp, Prima Romance Novel, Teresa Collins Vintage Finds and Pink Paisley Secret Crush. I have not ever done this before….but, believe me I really liked just mixing and matching all the papers together. So, go ahead and try it yourself…..I am sure you will like what you come up with. I did use a few different mask...and Tattered Angels Mist. I think that is what made the book come together well.

On the front cover I used molding paste and Mr. Huey mask. Then I used some Tattered Angels Leather spray and Ranger Espresso and Tim Holtz Distress ink Brushed Corduroy. Then I stamped with the Glitz Stamps the rose onto the Heidi Swap paper and used water colors to color it in. Then as you can see I used Tim Holtz alcohol inks on the Webster’s Pages Push Pins. (Butterfly) Then took Prima and added to them to give them some sparkle. I also used the domino and used the alcohol inks on that too and stamped Journey from a set of TH stamps. Added a few Prima baby roses.( with white gesso on the tips) Then sprayed with Tattered Angles Old Paper to give the whole thing just a bit of a shine.














It is really fun to see the end result and just try something different. Just remember by using different manufactures together can be fun. This Fab 4 has me thinking outside my comfort zone and outside the box. You can also do this at home. Grab 4 things and just go with it and see what you come up with. Pink Paisley Secret Crush Mini Fold Album

Good Morning all you flock followers!! Today I have decided to do a Valentine's mini fold Album using a recycled craft file folder and using the Pink Paisley Secret Crush collection. I used with this album all of the line of Secret Crush....and threw in some Teresa Collins stamps from the Vintage Finds collection and also some Prima yummy's!! This is really hard to explain (I began writing and looked at it and thought no one will ever be able to understand it)....but once I get my Scrap Studio done I will be making video's of my work and some tutorials. Right now it is tore apart. And looks like the house is just one big scrap area. I will be finishing up this week hopefully. Hope you enjoy this mini that I have made. Here is a quick tutorial for how I made this Mini Fold Album. I have seen this made on a YouTube video and for the life of me can not find it again. But, if I do find the person that I got this idea from I will pass along her information.

First off you need a manila folder the top one. I am using a craft recycled one from Staples. But, you can find the yellow ones anywhere. The one that you use is the first one of the 3 different tabs.

You want to open it up to where the tab is on the top.

Now you want to fold the bottom up to the tab on your left side in half. And crease your line.

Now you want to take and fold the left side of your folder with the tab going over the center of your first half of the file folder.

Crease this down to where it is flat

Now how I do the next part is take your score board and line it up against the edge and you want to score the line right next to the fold of the first part. So that it will be flush to the first half. This is very important. That is why I use my score board.

Now you have the fold as seen in this photo.

This is what the back of your book will look like.

Now that you have this little album folded it is time to decorate. I decorated it and then glued the folds down with Scotch quick dry adhesive on the folds. This was such a fun and fast project to make. Hope my instructions were not to hard to follow. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
