Designing With 7 Gypsies at Flamingo Scraps

Hope all is doing well here at the flock today!! This week I decided to do a mini album using 7 Gypsies Avignon paper and using business size envelopes #10 (Size 4 1/8” X9 ½”) to create with. I have seen many different versions of this envelope mini. So, I did mine the way I wanted and changed it up a bit. I did not cut any of the envelopes anywhere else except for about a ¼ inch off of the top.
I decided to try some Brushed Sage Distress Ink instead of using my regular Brushed Corduroy or Vintage Photo. I liked it but, I think I will go back to my usual. LOL I also used washers as you will see in the photos to reinforce the binding. I also added some paper to them…because they seemed a bit to flimsy. Hope you like my mini as much as I had fun making it.

I created this project using the Graphic 45 Ole Curiosity Shoppe for my Design Team submission. I loved making this book with all the "fussy" cutting that I did, as well as all the little nooks and crannies to put tags into. I enjoy watching Youtube getting new ideas. Altered Photo Frame for Be Yourself Creations

This Wednesday I decided to do a photo with my great nephew. I did a Multi Media Frame using Multi Medium Gel and then just let it dry then Painted with Adirondack Paint Dabbers-SNOW CAP and Pearl, then layered it with PITCH BLACK wiped it off with a paper towel to get the distressed look. Then dried it an used Pan Pastels-Paynes Grey and Turquoise for the patina look. Then Modge Podged it so the Pan Pastels would not come off...then ran the Silver over it to give it that shabby look. Then I used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distressed ink. I loved making it. And after I put little Gabriel's photo in it I knew it was meant to be there. Hope you like my project for this week. DT Projects at Be Yourself Creations a Mixed Media Altered Distressed Old Book

Hi All…. hope all is well! It has been a crazy couple of weeks here. My mom has been sick and trying to finish up this project an Mixed Media Altered Distressed Old Book. Wild Wedensday at Be Yourself Creations

Hope this day finds you well.
Wow, I must say this is one of the hardest projects I have done…With Graphic 45 Ladies Diary and so much fussy cutting. But, I love the outcome of it!! I watched a YouTube video of how a lady made this book and changed it up to make it my own. Love all the products that I used in this and I must say I am loving my Pan Pastels!! I used it on the spine to calm it down and all of my flowers. Hope you enjoy this book as much as I did making it.

Wild Wednesday at Be Yourself Creations

Yes, I must say it has been a wild Wednesday here. So with that said I would like to show you my creation for this weeks DT project. I made this with the Prima line Natures Garden and some Almanac. Which is two of my all time favourites!! I used 7 Gypsies PHOTO STAND BOOK 5 x 7 VERTICAL. I used it without the photo stand. I also made 2 acrylic pages to go into this. Hope you like what I created.

Hello all today is Wonderful Wednesday here at Be Yourself Creations!! Hope you all are having a crafty day today. I would like to share one of my Crafty projects. I learned this technique at Prima Sweet Retreat and thought I would love to make a bag to carry some of my crafty stuff in. So I went to Michaels and found this cute book bag...with use of a 40% coupon. First I wetted down the bag and worked in Golden Fluid Acrylics Quinacridone Magenta. I had to do 2 coats to get the desired look that I wanted. I let air dry....you can use a heat too. But, with 100 degree weather I just set it outside then tossed it in the dryer to heat set it. I then took a foam step and took plain acrylic paint and stamped on the book bag. Next I got me some felt and made the flowers. Maybe an upcoming tutorial if anyone is interested. Made the bead elements for my center of the flowers using wire and glass beads and then used a button cording for around the edges, a doily and feathers curled.
